AuroraVision Fundraiser Screening - 3 Local Sci Fi Short Films

Join us at 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 for an evening of nibbles, networking, and independent sci-fi cinema, featuring not one, but THREE locally made short films from Wellington creatives.
Genre filmmaking is alive and well in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and this fundraiser screening is a celebration of some of the filmmakers, collectives, artists, and crews pushing bold speculative storytelling right here in our own creative community!

Each film offers a different vision of science fiction, from strange worlds and speculative futures to intimate human stories told through bold, imaginative local filmmaking.
Funds raised from the event will go towards the next AuroraVision project:
˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ 𝐂𝐡ō𝐫𝐚. ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗
𝐂𝐡ō𝐫𝐚 is an upcoming speculative short film anthology made up of several distinct stories, each set in its own unique world and each defined by unique technical and artistic challenges. These stories are connected through the strange liminal space between universes called ‘𝐂𝐡ō𝐫𝐚’, where memory, belief, and other realities overlap.
The project is designed to expand crew skill sets and showcase local Wellington talent across directing, writing, production design, visual effects, sound, and practical filmmaking, while building a larger shared universe for future AuroraVision stories.
By coming along, you’ll be supporting local independent cinema and helping prove that ambitious, imaginative, genre-driven filmmaking has a strong home in Wellington.
