About This Group
VALORpreneurs brings together Northern Michigan veterans, military family members, and first responders who are building businesses, launching organizations, leading community projects, or exploring what's next after a career of service.
This isn't networking for networking's sake. It's a peer-support community where participants can build trusted relationships with others who understand the unique experiences, strengths, and challenges that often accompany military and public service. Together, participants identify the topics that matter most, shape future gatherings, and share the knowledge, connections, and resources they've gained through their own entrepreneurial journeys.
Rather than trying to tackle a broad business topic in a single meeting, we work through it over three monthly gatherings:
Explore — Virtual, 1 hour
Participants discuss how the jointly selected business topic shows up in their own ventures, identify common challenges and opportunities, and clarify what meaningful progress would look like.
Design — Virtual, 1 hour
Participants co-design the following month's in-person gathering by deciding what the group should work on together, what resources would be most valuable, and whether local experts, mentors, or partner organizations should be invited.
Work — In Person, 2 hours
Participants put those plans into action through facilitated peer support, practical activities, expert guidance, and collaborative problem-solving, leaving with tangible progress on a business challenge, decision, plan, or project.
Each gathering builds on the previous one, though participants are welcome to attend whichever sessions are most relevant and accessible to them.
VALORpreneurs is hosted and facilitated by Grove Community Incubator in partnership with local veteran-serving organizations, business support organizations, and community partners committed to helping veterans, military families, and first responders continue serving their communities through entrepreneurship and innovation.
