August CORE Demonstration Garden Open House (Carroll County Master Gardeners)
We'll have free, informal presentations, demonstrations, and tours covering the following topics:
9am – Plant Propagation: Demonstration of techniques useful for propagating your favorite perennials and shrubs
9:45am – Garlic: Talk and demonstration on when, where, and how to plant and grow garlic
10:30am - Native Plants: Talking tour of our Native Plants gardens (sun and shade) and demonstration on deadheading
11am – Fruits Tour: Talking/walking tour of our fruit trees and shrubs and how to grow your own
No need to sign up in EventBrite for a ticket! We're trying a new "open house" format this season. Just show up ready to tour and learn.
Consider applying sunscreen and bug spray if desired.
Please bring a notebook/pen/pencil for notetaking.
Please wear appropriate footwear. This class will take place in our CORE demonstration garden; you will be walking on a sloped surface and possible damp grass.

Class Location: Carroll County Extension Office, CORE Demonstration Garden
700 Agricultural Center, Westminster, MD 21157
-Follow Ag Center drive from the Gist Rd entrance, past the pond on your right.
-Stay right and enter the gates on your right (the Horse Barn will be on your right).
-Follow the road past the horse barn, stay right, follow the road as it leads behind the Ag Center arena. Note, road is gravel, drive slowly and carefully.
-You will pass a water pumping station on your right, proceed down the road.
-The CORE demonstration garden will be on your right, on the other side of the guard rail.
-Please park in the large lot at the end of the road, or along the sides of the road.
-Proceed down the hill on foot, through the grass, to the garden entrance gate. Master Gardeners will be stationed to greet you.
