Character Breakdown:
Dorothy Gale (Audition Age 10-15)
Mezzo/Mix (G to E) – Strong singer with full sound.
Minimal dancing; must be comfortable and natural onstage.
A strong-willed yet caring young girl who embarks on a journey through Oz. Must be highly likable and energetic.
Hunk / Scarecrow (Audition Age 18+)
Strong Baritone (up to F#, opt. Ab) – Excellent musical timing.
Major dancing role; must be agile, flexible, and expressive.
A lovable and intelligent character who believes he lacks brains. Requires strong physical acting to portray a man without bones. Hunk should subtly hint at the Scarecrow’s traits.
Hickory / Tin-Man (Audition Age 18+)
Baritone/Tenor (to G)
Light choreography, but movement is restricted.
A caring and emotional character who believes he lacks a heart. Must portray warmth despite stiff physicality. Hickory should subtly reflect the Tin-Man’s gentle nature.
Zeke / Cowardly Lion (Audition Age 18+)
Strong Baritone (to F) – Excellent comedic timing.
Light choreography; must move with animal-like agility.
A lovable, larger-than-life comedic role. Though he claims to lack courage, he proves otherwise throughout the journey. Requires strong characterization and body language.
Glinda the Good Witch / Aunt Em (Audition Age 35+)
Mezzo/Soprano (G to C) – Strong singer.
Some dance required.
A regal and nurturing presence. Glinda is poised and elegant, while Aunt Em is a warm, caring maternal figure. A subtle connection between the two roles should be evident.

A kind and hardworking farmer who deeply cares for Dorothy. Also plays the quirky and comedic Oz Guard, requiring strong character acting and presence.
