AUDITIONS: The Comedy of Errors 2027!

We are thrilled to announce upcoming auditions for Top Dog Theatre's Outdoor Summer Shakespeare production of ‘The Comedy of Errors’, directed by Charles Grubb, assisted by Jay Grubb, and produced by Derek Doddington.
We will be performing on the beautiful Mona Vale Lawn every night from February 10th to the 20th, 2027.
Certainly the most ridiculous and farcical of all of Shakespeare's plays, ‘Comedy of Errors’ depends on fast-paced slapstick, excellent comic timing and high energy acting!
If that sounds like you, AUDITIONS will take place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of September between 10am and 5pm in the Manu Tiria Block at Riccarton High School (maps and directions will be added to this event soon).
How will the auditions run?
- Auditions will be in ONE HOUR slots so that we can match people up to read together and give you time to look over the material
- You can perform any prepared piece from the play, and then we will likely get you to read again, or for an alternative character or scene, either on your own or with other auditionees
- You’ll be notified during the week if we need you for a recall, timings for which will be negotiated with those required.
Please read the Audition Pack and complete the Google Form linked below to secure a time slot for your audition.
The first read through and get together will be on Sunday, October 11th, with rehearsals starting the week of Monday, October 12th.
We don’t usually have ‘regular’ rehearsal dates and try to work with everyone’s schedules - please be mindful and honest about how ‘free’ you are from October to February.
