Auditions for The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell will take place February 2 & 3 at 6:30 p.m. upstairs in the annex next to the theatre at 227 Putnam St. Show dates are April 25, 26, May 2, 3 and 4.Auditions will consist of reading from the script. We encourage all people to audition, regardless of acting experience. Newcomers are always welcome!

About the show:
Three widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife’s grave.
Roles (all ages are character age and not necessarily the age the actor must be to portray the role)
IDA, female, 50-65, The gentlest and most charming of the three widowed friends, faces life the most realistically, ready to move on past grief and to accept new challenges. Lead Character
LUCILLE, female, 50-65, The most brazen one, always looking for a good deal, good time and always looking to “get even” with her unfaithful husband. Lead Character
DORIS, female, 50-65, The most conservative of the three, refuses to change any element in her life, adheres to her strict principles of love and respect and expects her friends to do the same. Lead character
SAM, male, 50-65, The local butcher, mourns the death of his wife, realizes that life has much to offer and is willing to take a chance on happiness again. Supporting character
MILDRED, female, 50-65, A show-off and a flirt. Supporting character
