The Mercury Theater will be holding auditions for a stage adaptation of the 1971 folk horror film, The Blood on Satan's Claw, to be directed by Connor M. Kizer. SYNOPSIS: When a strange skull is unearthed in a small English village and the teenagers of the village begin to behave bizarrely, the townspeople begin to suspect that a Satanic cult might be among them. Along with The Wicker Man (1973) and Witchfinder General (1968), The Blood on Satan's Claw is considered part of the "Unholy Trinity" of the folk horror genre.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, November 15th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday, November 18th from 6 PM to 10:00 PM at the Mercury (1823 N. Charles). The shows will be on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 pm on the following nights April 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. Rehearsals will initially be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Mercury beginning on January 13, with additional rehearsals added as we get closer to the show (days to be determined based on cast availability).
This will be a cast of 6-7 actors, with most actors playing multiple roles. All actors must be 18 or older to audition.
