The Last Quiz Night On Earth

Audition Date – Sunday January 12 2023 – 2:30 pm
It’s the end of the world. The last night on Earth. A massive asteroid is heading straight for us and there’s nothing we can do about it.
Except for maybe holding a final pub quiz at The Four Horsemen – which is exactly what landlady Kathy and her quizmaster Rav have decided to hold! But as the clock ticks down some unexpected guests exploded on the scene – Bobby wants to settle old scores and Fran wants one last shot at love.
The Last Quiz Night on Earth features an actual pub quiz that the audience will take part in – real teams, real questions, really swapping each other’s answers for marking, and the staging of this production will be something I don’t think we have ever done before – it will be an immersive experience.
In other words there will be no division between the audience and the actors – they will all occupy the same space.
It promises to be very exciting!!!!
The characters in this production are:
Kathy. Age 40+. Her dad was the previous landlord and she was brought up there. Destined to be the landlady. A no nonsense woman, she “says it like it is”. Rules her domain
Bobby. Age 40+. Kathy’s elder brother. Dad intended that Bobby would succeed him as the next landlord, but Bobby couldn’t wait to get away as quickly as he could. Divorced with 2 daughters who live with their mother in Ireland he works in ‘Middle Management’.
Rav. Age 25+. The quizmaster. Lives for the limelight and kudos that being the quizmaster gives him.
Fran. Age 25+. She is the same age as Rav and was his girlfriend at school, until she had to move away with her mum which broke her heart.
As said, I believe this will be very exciting for all participants, actors and audience. As actors you will be in the same space as the audience. You will need to treat the audience as people you know who frequent the pub. There is no hiding place and I expect once the audience become used to the experience they will start to talk to you as someone they know, so you will need to be alert all the time and quick wits will be needed.
