Discover how ADHD & Autism present differently in women, and tips on how to manage your neurodivergence. Followed by Q&A.
About this Event

Until 2013, it wasn’t possible to be formally diagnosed with both autism and ADHD, yet research now shows these conditions co-occur in up to 80% of cases. Despite this, neurodivergence has long been understood through a male lens, leaving countless women misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and unsupported. In this eye-opening talk, Dr Lauren Breese unpacks the science of AuDHD in women – revealing how gender bias, societal expectations, and the art of masking have shaped (and distorted) our understanding of what autism and ADHD “should” look like.

Drawing on cutting-edge research and her clinical experience, Dr Breese will explore how AuDHD can manifest in women across attention, social situations, sensory experiences, executive function, and emotional regulation. She’ll also consider the impact of late diagnosis and the daily realities of navigating a world built for neurotypical minds. This talk isn’t just about challenges, it’s about strengths, validation, and self-understanding. Dr Breese will share neuroaffirming insights and practical strategies to help AuDHD women recognise their unique patterns, harness their strengths, and thrive authentically. Whether you’re exploring your own neurodivergence, supporting someone you love, or simply curious about the science behind AuDHD, this talk offers insight, connection, and a new way of seeing what it truly means to be an AuDHD woman today.

Doors open at 7pm, talk starts at 7:30pm - come down early to grab a good seat!

Dr Lauren Breese is a Clinical Psychologist with over fourteen years’ experience specialising in supporting neurodivergent adults, as a therapist, diagnostician, lecturer at Universities and Conferences, and published researcher. She works through AND (Adult NeuroDiversity) Psychology, offering neuroaffirmative diagnostic assessments for autism, ADHD and AuDHD, and post-diagnostic therapeutic support, aimed at helping people deepen their self-understanding. Lauren also co-founded The Neurodiversity Practice and hosts an online community for neurodivergent parents. Here she works with organisations, teams and clinicians consulting, training, and helping to embed neuroinclusive cultures. She is particularly committed to working with those whose neurodivergence has been missed, who mask or “camouflage,” or who discover their neurodivergence later in life, believing strongly that celebrating neurodiversity and helping people see themselves more clearly is the foundation for wellbeing.
