In yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda, the term chakra refers to wheels of energy throughout the body. Each of the seven main chakras contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. It’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy flows are restricted which can negatively impact our health and well-being. (Chopra Center)In recent years, Western science and societies have made substantial progress towards accepting and practicing what Eastern and other traditional cultures have known for thousands of years…that energy and energy healing plays an important role in our physical, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. Research shows that energy healing modalities such as acupuncture, Reiki, yoga and meditation (all of which can clear and balance our chakras) are an effective, minimally invasive way to maintain physical health; they can improve psychological health and well-being – increasing feelings of happiness and calm while decreasing levels of anxiety; they can diminish the negative side effects of chemotherapy, improve surgical outcomes, regulate the autonomic nervous system and dramatically alter people’s experience of physical and emotional pain associated with illness.
Join Certified Intuitive Practitioner, Maggie Lears, in this interactive and experiential workshop where you will learn how to identify when your chakras are out of balance, and learn methods to attune and align your chakras, balancing your system for more harmony and better health.

Maggie recently retired from the faculty of Towson University and is delighted to increase her time spent at Well for the Journey. She is a certified intuitive practitioner and has been involved with the Well for over a decade volunteering in several circles and facilitating workshops exploring mindfulness, meditation, intuitive eating, and the chakra energy system.
