Educational Foraging Hike Fundraiser for Whole Inc.
Join Whole Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving, restoring, and celebrating Atlanta’s natural heritage, for an educational and engaging guided foraging hike.
During this immersive experience, you’ll learn to identify native trees, explore the fascinating world of mushrooms that grow alongside them, and discover the incredible diversity of edible, medicinal, and toxic plants found throughout Atlanta’s forests. Depending on seasonal availability, participants may have the opportunity to taste wild edible plants and learn about traditional foods and plant uses that have sustained Indigenous peoples of the Southeast for generations.
Along the way, we’ll discuss plant ecology, fungal relationships, responsible foraging practices, and how these ecosystems support both wildlife and people.
This hike is a fundraiser supporting Whole Inc.’s conservation and educational mission. Every ticket directly supports our volunteer stewardship efforts, native habitat restoration, educational programming, and community initiatives that help protect Atlanta’s remarkable urban forests.

📍 Event Location & Parking Details
- GPS Navigation Address: Use 1340 McConnell Dr, Decatur, GA 30030 (This brings you directly into the main Mason Mill Park recreation lot).
- Where to Park: Drive all the way to the very end of the parking lot loop (past the playground and tennis courts).
- Meeting Spot: We are meeting at the end of the lot, right next to the tennis courts and public restroom building near the trailhead.
- Cost: Parking is completely free.
