Celebrate the autumnal equinox with an evening beneath the stars at Discovery Park of America. Join Dr. Lionel Crews of the University of Tennessee at Martin Astronomy Department for a special evening celebrating the equinox and the beginning of astronomical fall.
Guests will learn about the changing orientation of Earth as it orbits the Sun and why the solstices and equinoxes have held significance throughout history. If skies are clear, guests can take a closer look at the night sky through telescopes and discover more about the celestial world above.
This event is part of Discovery Park of America’s Passport to the Universe program, a free astronomy series open to all.
This is the seventh class of 2026. Participants who attend five or more classes during the year will receive a unique 2026 commemorative patch. Don’t forget to bring your passport if you already have one.
