ASHTANGA VINYASA THERAPEUTIC BENEFITS 55Hrs TEACHER TRAININGThousands of people around the world are practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga today. This system was passed down by Sri T. Krishnamacharya as part of the Hatha yoga tradition and is based on Patanjali's philosophy of "eight limbs" of yoga. Students practice a sequence of poses linked with Vinyasa (movement with regulated breath) using Ujjayi Pranayama (deep rhythmic breathing), Bandha (muscular and energetic locks), and Drishti (meditative gaze points).
Traditionally, in Ashtanga, there are three main sequences of postures:
- Primary (Yoga Chikitsa),
- Intermediate (Nadi Sodhana),
- Advanced Series (Sthira Bhaga).
🧘🏻♀️ This training will focus on the Primary series and introduce the Intermediate series, with a main emphasis on the long-term health benefits.
🧘🏾 Pranayama practice will be emphasized, and the importance of Bandha and Drishti will be discussed.
🧘🏾♂️ Homework assignments will include reading suggested Ashtanga guide textbooks, which will be discussed throughout.
We will gather for three weekends spread apart over three months, allowing everyone to establish regular practice and complete suggested readings on Ashtanga Yoga and homework assignments. Regular participation in lead or Mysore-style sessions and journaling will be strongly recommended throughout the training.
Suitable for yoga teachers willing to submerge themselves in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition and establish their practice to serve their students while teaching. The benefits of each pose will be discussed. Safe adjustments for poses will be demonstrated and practiced.
Suitable for all levels of yoga students - beginners to those already familiar with the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, who are willing to establish regular self-practice leading to long-term health benefits by restoring the balance between flexibility, strength, and mental stability.

About the lead teacher, Inga Wilke.
Inga is a long-time yoga student who was introduced to Pranayama practice in 1987 at the age of 14 and started her asana practice about a decade later. Inga completed her first 125-hour teacher training with Suddha Weixler (The Chicago Yoga Center), whom she still regards as the primary influence on her teaching style. In 2013, she completed a 200-hour training with Rishikesh Yogpeeth in India, after which she fully committed to teaching yoga. Inga is about to complete her 500-hour training with Poonsm Gupta, a leading educator in Yoga Therapy. Inga owns the Carpe Diem Studio, which offers various events, including sound healing, art therapy, spiritual retreats, and traveling for women.
Inga follows the Ashtanga traditions in the form taught by Manju P. Jois, whom she considers her master teacher. She also studied with David Garrigues, Tim Feldmann, and Andrew Eppler and attended the Mysore Yoga Conference in Mysore (India), which helped her expand her understanding of what Ashtanga Practice means to her. She aspires to serve her students by continually learning and deepening her practice. “We all are students in the first place since we can only teach what we have mastered ourselves” is her motto. While enjoying all the health benefits that she credits to her regular Ashtanga practice, she points out that Ashtanga Vinyasa became the primary practice, which matters along with the restorative practice, also known for its therapeutic benefits. Inga is ready to share her passion and knowledge with everyone who feels called to learn with her.
