Ascension and St. Agnes Festival Chorus and Orchestra: Duruflé Requiem

Join the Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes for a special performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, one of the great masterpieces of twentieth-century sacred music. Featuring the ASA Festival Chorus and orchestra, this extraordinary work weaves ancient Gregorian chant with the lush harmonies and rich colors of the French musical tradition. By turns powerful, intimate, and profoundly moving, Duruflé’s Requiem offers a timeless meditation on mortality, consolation, and eternal rest, heard in the magnificent setting of one of Washington’s historic churches.
