Ruth Marshall, cello, and Garret Ross, piano. Program features women composers, and is built around Rebecca Clark's Rhapsody for Cello and Piano.Now in their 15th year as an ensemble, cellist Ruth Marshall and pianist Garret Ross of Artu Duo perform a broad repertoire within the classical music genre, including works that are both familiar, and rarely-heard. The program on March 15 will feature music by women composers, including works by Rebecca Clarke, Henriette Bosmans (Sonata for Cello in a minor), and Minnesota's own Jocelyn Hagen (Elegy). Based in Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Artu Duo has toured extensively across the United States, including a debut recital at Carnegie Hall in 2016.
The concert takes place Sunday March 15 at 2:00 pm at the Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville MN. Concerts are general admission. Audiences sit cabaret-style at tables, with complimentary refreshments and Tapestry Coffee. Huldah Niles, Erika Hoogeveen, violins, Coca Bochonko, viola, Rebeccah Parker Downs, cello. Eclectic concert featuring works by Wynton Marsalis, Anton Webern, and Caroline Shaw, with jazz-inspired rhythms, sweeping romanticism, and echoes of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.
At our April 26 concert there will also be end-of-season surveys and door prizes, and the announcement of our 2027 season lineup.
