Celebrate the season with jazz, art, and a little holiday magic at Sound & Story!

This December, Sound & Story gets a festive twist at Art Center Sarasota. Gather with friends, explore the galleries, and enjoy an evening of live jazz, creativity, and seasonal favorites featuring Matthew Ragas and The Geniuses.

The evening begins at 5 PM with a social hour, featuring a cash bar, mingling, and time to explore the Art Center Sarasota galleries. Then, from 6–7:30 PM, Matthew Ragas and The Geniuses take the stage for a lively performance featuring jazz hits and festive seasonal classics.

Led by vocalist Matthew Ragas, a modern-day crooner known for blending the timeless sounds of jazz and blues with a soulful, contemporary style, the ensemble brings together vocals, piano, bass, and drums for an evening filled with smooth sounds and holiday spirit.

But Sound & Story isn’t just a concert. As the ensemble performs, guests will be invited to paint, draw, and create alongside the music, using provided art materials and the sounds of the evening as inspiration. Live performance and visual art come together in an immersive, interactive experience that invites you to listen, create, and connect in a deeper and more personal way.

Part of Sarasota Performing Arts Foundation’s ArtSELF initiative, Sound & Story is designed to spark creativity, support wellness, and bring people together through shared artistic experiences. This special holiday edition offers a joyful way to slow down during a busy season, connect with others, and experience the arts in a new way.

No artistic experience is necessary, and all art materials are provided. Just come ready to listen, create, and enjoy the season!
