Join us for an in-conversation artist talk exploring Woven, a significant First Nations artwork by Aunty Marilyne Nicholls that forms part of the Bendigo Art Gallery’s redevelopment. Woven combines ancestral knowledge, traditional weaving practices, and cutting-edge architectural technologies on a monumental scale and will be embedded into the façade of the View Street building.
Aunty Marilyne, a multi-clan woman from freshwater and saltwater Country with apical ancestor ties to Dja Dja Wurrung, is a senior weaver and a cultural knowledge holder who combines ancestral knowledge and traditional weaving practices.
