Artist Talk: Rachel Fäth
About this Event
To celebrate an upcoming exhibition at the gallery, Ivory Tars and the Goethe-Institut Glasgow invite audiences to a special artist talk. Please join artist Rachel Fäth as she discusses her working method and exhibitions to date.
Created in relation to a series of self-imposed constraints, and responding to cues taken from the spaces in which they are displayed, Fäth’s objects and moving image works reflect on the phantasmal role industrial material plays in our current infrastructural reality. Recently, she has foregone the use of a conventional studio space, choosing instead to produce variously in a community welding workshop, the art school in which she teaches, or relying upon arrangements made by the gallery inviting her to exhibit.
