About this Event
It happens sometimes: the dreaded artist’s block. Did you have a dedicated practice, but “real” life got in the way? Loved art in school, but lost your confidence? Maybe you’re in a creative rut and need a change? In this 90-minute workshop we’ll consider issues of space, time, money, and a brain that won’t start. What’s holding you back? Each experience is unique, but with journaling, warm-up exercises, and discussions we can reawaken that passion to create again and remember why we make art.
Bring these supplies to class:
Notebook/sketchbook you love to write and draw in (book size or larger best!)
Your favorite writing implements (pen or pencil)
A calendar
Your hard-working brain and your ever-loving heart
All other supplies will be provided.
This class is for experienced creators.
Refunds requested at least 1 day before the event will be in the form of a credit for future classes within one year.
About the instructor: Lisa works in water-based media, painting and drawing on canvas, paper and board. She has a BFA in studio art from the School of Visual Arts, University of North Texas with additional study at the University of Texas, Austin and Art New England through MassArt. Lisa developed this class after floundering in her own art practice as a new mom, getting stuck and started a couple of times before settling on a path. Of her art now she explains, “I love creating imaginary worlds, exploring the possibilities of what if, communicating, and revealing the human condition through art. Creating art can be a giving act for ourselves and others.”
