For the first time, Wild & Scenic’s Art Exhibition will be displayed at both the Rood Center January 16 - May 1 and The Granucci Gallery February 19 - March 15 in Grass Valley. The Rood Center exhibition, Mobilize, will show a curated selection of archival festival posters and programs alongside 24 selected artworks. Collectively at both venues, over 100 artworks representing 59 artists in a variety of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media will be shown. Each year, the open call for art draws hundreds of submissions from local and regional artists.Mobilize is the first exhibition of 2026 under Art in Public Spaces and celebrates a 15-year partnership between Nevada County Arts Council and Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
This year’s festival theme and title of the Rood Center exhibition, MOBILIZE, serves as a call to action and a celebration of progress toward tangible change. The exhibition explores Wild and Scenic’s rich history and its visual art exhibition, utilizing visual language to elevate voices, organize efforts, and address environmental challenges.
Now in its 24th year, SYRCL’s Wild and Scenic Film Festival aims to inform, inspire, and ignite solutions to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation through stellar filmmaking, beautiful cinematography, and first-rate storytelling.
