Learn about the Art For Change programme where creativity meets activism through arts-based, youth-led, social action.About this Event
Join our Art For Change Masterclasses to learn how to enable youth-led, arts-based civic action using FIDS, our globally acclaimed methodology (Feel, Imagine , Do, Share) that has empowered 2 million children in 70+ countries to lead change.
Each Masterclass is a cross-sectoral, cross-community and intercultural immersion, taking artist facilitators, school teachers, youth workers, academics and business leaders on informative and interactive, artivism journeys.
By the end of each Masterclass the group will learn about:
- the global Design For Change (DFC) Movement https://www.dfcworld.org/

- the I CAN Journey partnership opportunity for schools, youth and arts organisations, universities and corporates https://edusoil.my.canva.site/dfcni-partnerships
- the upcoming Be The Change Summit in Athens, Greece, November 26 - 29, that a group of young people from NI can be country representatives for, alongside peers from 30+ countries https://summit2026.dfcgreece.org/
- how the Art For Change Summer Programme, at Queen’s University Belfast July 6 - 10th is a pathway to the global stage in Athens later this year, that artist facilitators, school teachers, academics and corporate partners can support https://designforchangeni.com/art-for-change
- how to use the Feel, Imagine, Do, Share framework to co-create an art-piece in response to a chosen issue which will be presented at our showcase event on July 10th

The programme is led by Juanita Rea, Visiting Scholar at the School of Arts, English and Languages, founder of eduSOIL and Director of Design For Change NI, South Africa and Sudan
Since 2011 eduSOIL has supported 16,000 people in 12 countries. Since 2023, Art For Change has been delivered in NI partnership with Design For Change Global and with support from Arts Council Northern Ireland and Queen's University Belfast School of Arts, English and Languages (AEL), Performance Without Barriers research group and the Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility Directorate.
