Summer Gifts: Joy, Solace, Hope
Experience a new art exhibit by Rev. Dr. Sherrie Ilg, former St. Paul’s pastor, in the Upper Room Gallery through late August. She’ll hold an Artist Talk on Sunday, August 2, at 10:30 a.m. (Please note that the Artist Talk has been rescheduled from its originally advertised date.) Inspired by nature and the rhythms of the seasons, Sherrie has found that her time paying attention to the outdoors and painting have allowed her to reflect and savor life in fresh ways. The ordinary fluidity of the water and paint pigments moved by brush on cotton paper becomes holy when infused with intention. Sometimes, like the Spirit, the unplanned movement of these watercolor marks is something to pay attention to. As a new watercolor artist since her retirement from St. Paul’s in 2023, she’s happy to share a sampling of summertime inspiration in our Upper Room Gallery.
