Get into the holiday spirit with our final workshop in the floral watercolor series. This four-week class will focus on painting traditional holiday flowers like sunflowers, poinsettias, and holly. Perfect for beginners and those continuing from previous classes, this session will deepen your understanding of watercolor techniques, water control, and color mixing.
What you'll learn:
Holiday Flowers: Paint classic holiday blooms such as sunflowers, poinsettias, and holly.
Watercolor Techniques: Enhance your skills in water control, adding details, and mixing colors.
Seasonal Projects: Create beautiful holiday-themed art for cards or home decor.
Class Projects:
Week 1: Choose between reference photos that are supplied then learn how to do a quick watercolor sketch of it. Plus discuss what makes a good reference photo. Choose if you are going to make mini paintings or holiday cards for your next projects.
Week 2: Bring your own reference material. Start to sketch out a project and do a quick watercolor painting of it.
Week 3: Start your final project.
Week 4: Finish your final project and participate in a class critique.
What to Bring: You'll need a watercolor palette, brushes (#2 and #6), a 140# watercolor sketch pad 9x12 or smaller, water container, paper towels, travel-size spray bottle or water dropper, kneaded eraser, pencil, and a dry-erase board. You can pay a $40 supply fee or bring your own from the supply list. Optionally, you can bring watercolor cards and envelopes for holiday card projects.
