About the event
Join me for a 12-week creative journey designed to strengthen your drawing skills, improve your understanding of colour, light and composition, and help you develop greater confidence in your own artistic style and preferences.

Beginning with drawing fundamentals and observational techniques, we will gradually progress through urban sketching, landscape painting, colour theory, atmospheric studies, botanicals, water studies and contemporary mixed-media exploration. Along the way, you will work with a variety of materials including graphite pencil, ink pen, watercolour, gouache and oils, building both technical skills and creative confidence.

This course is ideal for students who previously took part in Art Across Mediums (January 2026) and are looking to continue developing their skills and confidence in drawing and painting. It is also suitable for beginner to improver artists who enjoy painting and drawing as a hobby and are keen to progress their observational skills, understanding of colour and composition, and creative confidence. As such, there will be many opportunities during this course to make your own choices when it comes to the mediums used for the class projects.

While the course is designed to be supportive and accessible, some prior experience with watercolour, gouache and oil painting is recommended, as we will be building on existing knowledge rather than covering the fundamentals of each medium in depth. If you are completely new to these materials, or would like a more comprehensive introduction to a range of techniques and mediums, the Art Across Mediums Level 1 course would be an excellent place to begin before joining this programme.
