Come together and kick off our Arnwine Family Reunion with big hugs, lots of laughter, and delicious eats! This casual Friday evening meet-and-greet is the perfect way to reconnect, catch up with cousins you haven’t seen in years, meet the newest little ones, and start building those unbreakable bonds right from the jump.
We’re keeping it simple, hearty, and crowd-pleasing:
Fresh pizzas
Sub/sandwich platters
Rotisserie chickens + classic sides
Drinks and light snacks
From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, relax in a welcoming space at our hotel base — mingle, share stories about our resilient ancestors, snap family photos, and get hyped for the epic weekend ahead (Saturday tours + games, awards ceremony, talent show, DJ dance party… and Sunday at AFRAM! )

Morning/Afternoon: Group Tour at National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) ️✨
9:00 AM – ~3:00–5:00 PM (flexible return)
Head to DC (~45-min drive, carpool recommended) for a 2-hour group tour exploring African American history, resilience, and achievements. Honor our ancestors and spark family talks!
After, spend extra time in the museum or check out nearby monuments (MLK, Lincoln Memorial) for photos/reflection. Grab light snacks/lunch on your own. Return in time for 6:00 PM start!
Evening: Games + Saturday Night Function ️
Location: Hotel
6:00–7:00 PM: Game Night ♠️ – Family Feud, spades, kids’ activities, light snacks
7:00–8:30 PM: Big Dinner Buffet – Hearty soulful spread (covered in reg)
8:30–9:30 PM: Awards Ceremony – Honor trailblazers & share stories
9:30–11:00 PM+: Talent Show + DJ Dance Party

9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (approx.): Family Brunch
Start our final day with a hearty brunch at the hotel — bacon, eggs, toast, salads, fruit, pastries, juice/coffee. Relax, share weekend stories, and fuel up together. (Covered in registration — casual & no rush!)
After Brunch: AFRAM Festival at Druid Hill Park ✨
~11:00 AM – Depart hotel (carpool, rideshare, or our limited cargo van shuttle for drop-off/one pick-up — seating limited, priority for those without cars).
Meet the family at Druid Hill Park for the 50th Anniversary AFRAM Festival (free entry, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM). Enjoy live music (Charlie Wilson, Mario, The Lox + more), food vendors, cultural performances, kids’ activities, art, and vibrant community vibes!
Come and go freely — stay all day or leave whenever (head home, airport, etc.). No formal end — make final memories on your own terms.
