After the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday season is behind you, relax with beautiful live music at our popular Epiphany concert! Join us on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2 pm, at festive Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church* for "Arise, Shine, For Your Light Has Come" featuring selections from Handel's magnificent "Messiah" and other seasonal favorites, with glorious chamber orchestra.One of the seasonal faves is "This Have I Done for My True Love" - a traditional English carol. Finding the traditional version rather uninspiring, Gustav Holst composed his own moving setting for a cappella mixed choir in 1916. Holst was proud of it, calling it his "best thing." By 1937 it was being called his best-known work. Today it remains a choral favorite, and it is often described as a small masterpiece. The Bach Chamber Choir is excited to perform it for you on Jan. 4!
Our celebrated Epiphany performance will also feature selections from composers Buxtehude, Luis de Victoria, Forrest, Sargent, Hagenberg and more. Pause, sit back and soak in a little more holiday magic and joy in a beautiful setting (still dressed for Christmas)!
