Sonoma is where the California wine industry began — and Sonoma Plaza, laid out in 1835 by General Mariano Vallejo, is still the state's largest town square, ringed with tasting rooms, shops, and restaurants worth exploring before or after the tasting. Depot Park sits just off the plaza for a quieter stroll.
It's a rare thing for a San Rafael, Argentina winemaker to pour in CA wine country's own backyard — and a fitting place for Fabricio's first visit to California.
