Gone with the Wind (and Habitat Loss): A Butterfly Mystery
Advertisement
Many people believe there are fewer butterflies today than in the past. Is that true? If so, what is causing the decline? Why do some butterflies thrive in urban areas while others are found mainly in rural habitats? What can home gardeners do to restore habitat for butterflies and caterpillars so future generations can continue to wonder at these remarkable creatures?
Sonoma County Master Gardener Suzanne Clarke will examine the threats facing these iconic insects, explain what butterflies need to survive, and share practical ways home gardeners can help.
