Calling all homeschoolers! Dive into an exciting SciTech Afternoon featuring three dynamic classes tailored to three different age groups—each exploring the fascinating world of Animals & Biomimicry!Homeschool: Buddies (Ages 3-6)
Young learners will explore the amazing world of animals and how they survive in nature through fun, hands-on activities. Using sensory play, children will touch different textures like soft fur, feathery wings, and scaly skin while learning how patterns, colors, and shapes help animals hide or adapt. Kids will play games to practice spotting camouflaged animals, sort and match animal features, and try simple building or stacking activities inspired by animal homes.
Homeschool: Explorers (Ages 7-11)
Homeschool students will dive deeper into how animals inspire human inventions. They’ll explore biomimicry through building challenges and design experiments, learning how animals’ features—like wings, fins, and beaks—solve real-world problems. Students will work with simple materials to create prototypes, test designs, and iterate on solutions, combining creativity with hands-on STEM learning.
Homeschool: The Lab (Ages 12-18)
Teen homeschoolers will take biomimicry to a more advanced level, investigating how animals’ adaptations solve challenges in nature and applying those principles to engineering and design projects. Students will design, build, and test tools, devices, or structures inspired by animal features, analyzing what works and refining their solutions. The class combines hands-on experimentation with critical thinking, STEM exploration, and real-world problem solving.
