Derek Benson, Amphibian Conservation Supervisor at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, will talk about their work in conserving a variety of species, including the
Puerto Rican Crested Toad, Wyoming Toad, Dusky Gopher Frog, Western Toad, Mountain Yellow Legged Frog, Frosted Flatwoods Salamander, Panamanian Golden Frogs and more.
Benson has dedicated his career to preventing amphibian extinctions. He has been actively involved in zoo amphibian conservation for over thirteen years and currently oversees the amphibian conservation area at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, managing breeding populations of endangered species, a team of four full-time staff, and a seasonally fluctuating population of up to 3,000 anurans and caudates.
