The 2024 Appalachian Writer’s Conference 2024 offers guests precisely what they need to start, continue, or finish that writing project.
This year’s conference will dive into genre writing, with faculty who are established authors of cozy mysteries, crime, romance, dystopian, and fantasy novels. Award-winning, nationally and regionally recognized literary writers and those who are nationally acclaimed for their influence in historical non-fiction will teach sessions.
The conference also features staples like building your author brand, dissecting contracts and protecting yourself from libel.
As always, the AWC offers beginning and intermediate writers a chance to sharpen existing skills and learn new techniques from award-winning faculty.
Writers also have the opportunity to have their work recognized with awards and prizes by entering "Appy Inkwell Awards" in three different categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Memoir.
It all happens in the heart of Appalachia in Berea, Kentucky, the state’s Artisan Capital, where guests will stay at Historic Boone Tavern Hotel and enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, shopping at the many craft stores, and have a chance to meet Kentucky Artisans.
