Roberta Schultz: Empowerment Drumming

The first drum we hear is our mother’s heartbeat in the womb. Human beings are wired for rhythm and can benefit greatly from recreational experiences with drums. Come join Trained HealthRhythms Facilitator and Kentucky Teaching Artist, Roberta Schultz for a drum circle experience and a research-based discussion about how incorporating recreational drumming into your church, community group, school, or staff retreat activities can increase well-being.

3-hour LearnShop

• Take Home: Song lyrics and links to drumming songs composed by the workshop leader with permission to use them. Instructional handout on drumming resources, including future training/class opportunities.

*Attendees will also receive a small sound shape with a mallet!*

• Notes: Wear comfortable clothing for movement and drumming, may dress in layers, a portion of the class will be held outdoors. Bring a water bottle.
