This workshop is essential for all educators to learn from First Nations Educators and leaders in their field, Deb Belyea and Fiona Mann Bobongie. With over 50 years of combined educational experience, from classroom teaching in remote Indigenous communities to leadership expertise, these two Indigenous academics will invite you into their cultural lens to understand the role of community when planning curriculum.
This 2-day workshop is not to be missed, and includes:
- On-Country experience
- Cultural Responsiveness: unpacking cultural biases, engaging with First Nations communities, including Torres Strait Islander communities
- Context of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
- Ways of Working and Teaching: 8 Ways of First Nations ways of Learning, Zeyawgub's Interconnectedness Framework, AICE Framework
- Cultural Experiences: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Dance Performances, Indigenous languages workshop
