Anxiety and Depression Among Older Adults- Diagnosis and Interventions

This conference will examine the clinical presentation of depression and anxiety in older adults, common risk factors, barriers to recognition, appropriate screening and assessment strategies, and important considerations in distinguishing psychiatric symptoms from medical and cognitive conditions. The presentation will also address suicide risk, treatment and referral considerations, and the vital role of early recognition and intervention. One session will focus on Managing Anxiety and Depression in Long Term Care.
