Ashley Nail has been battling a rare and life-altering disease called Wegener's Disease. This is an autoimmune condition that causes her immune system to attack her blood vessels. In Ashley's case, it spread to her central nervous system and brain, leading to a stroke and lasting health conditions. The treatments have also caused damage to her bones, which will eventually lead to likely hip and knee replacement surgeries.
In November, Ashley has the opportunity of a lifetime. She will be headed to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for a full case evaluation. This amazing opportunity gives her access to the best team of doctors who will be able to study the cause of her condition, explore treatment options, and consider experimental options that she otherwise would not have access to, all of which could have astronomical benefits to improving her condition and her quality of life.
While this truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity, unfortunately, it also comes with a hefty price tag. Travel, lodging, and ongoing medical expenses will have an effect on her and her whole family.
