What makes our congregation feel like home? For some, it's the people who greet us at the door. For others, it's the conversations that linger long after programs end. It's also the volunteers who quietly show up again and again. It's friendships, generosity, music, learning, laughter, and care that fill our building and shape our community every day.
The Annual Gathering is a chance to celebrate all of it together. It is an evening filled with gratitude, connection, storytelling, and joy as we celebrate the people who make Temple Israel the vibrant and inspiring community it is today— that means you! Together, we will reflect on the moments that moved us this year, honor those whose generosity and dedication sustain our congregation, and look ahead toward all that is still to come.
During the evening, we will honor our N'divei Lev Award recipients, members of our community recognized for their gifts of the heart: Marcy Bienen, Mimi Smulow, Emma Adelman, and our dedicated sandwich-making volunteers. We will also recognize our Yishrat Lev Award recipients, members of the community who are stepping down from the Board and Elected Council: Ilisa Hurowitz (Board) and Kim Barnum (Elected Council). The evening will include a special blessing honoring Rabbi Elaine Zecher and her 36 years at Temple Israel of Boston.
