Live Blues & Soul music takes over POSTUnderground on Friday, June 12 at 8pm as the MWALIM Trio featuring Mwalim DaPhunkee Professor on vocals, guitar, and keys, with The ZYG 808 on drums and Richard Johnson on bass delivers an unforgettable evening of deep groove, storytelling, soulful improvisation, and electrifying musicianship. Blending Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk, and underground groove traditions, the band creates a powerful live music experience rooted in Black musical tradition and contemporary artistry.A multi-award-winning composer, vocalist, producer, and performer, Mwalim is celebrated for emotionally charged performances that move seamlessly from intimate storytelling to explosive musical interplay. Known as a modern-day Blues Griot, he channels history, emotion, and lived experience through music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
