As we mark 5 years of shared co-existence, exchange, and co-creation, we invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone. Together, we’ll look back on our journey with gratitude and nostalgia, revisiting sounds and stories that have shaped our ensemble, Perperúna.
Our evening promises to be a tapestry of polyphonic encounters, weaving together the rich oral traditions of the Balkans and Mediterranean diaspora, shaking it well with elements of improvisation.
Through song, stories and interdisciplinary performance, we’ll honor the vanishing tales of the past while stepping boldly into the future.
🎶 What to Expect:
• A special performance by Perperúna, featuring reinterpretations of traditional songs through a contemporary, polyphonic lens.
• Guest collaborations on and behind the stage, adding new dimensions to our storytelling
• A cozy reception with drinks and snacks, offering a chance to connect and celebrate together.
Founded in winter 2020 after open singing circles in Berlin’s parks, Perperúna has become a collective for exploring the powerful, expressive potential of polyphony that speaks of universal and everlasting human experience and struggle and beauty. From love to labor, migration to mourning, and nature’s reverence to life’s trials, our music bridges the past and present, inviting you to join us to yet another polyphonic journey.
