Animezing! | Ghost in the Shell (1995)

On the occasion of America’s 250th birthday, we are excited to continue our special film series, Double Exposure, a celebration of the history of cultural and cinematic exchange between the U.S. and Japan. Our final film is the science fiction classic, Ghost In The Shell (1995).️

Set in fictional 2029 where cybernetics can fully replace the human body with a mechanical one, Major Kusanagi Motoko leads a special security division in Japan. The Major and her team are soon wrapped up in an investigation of “The Puppet Master”, a shadowy figure hacking into cyberized bodies. Driven by an exciting and visually stunning plot, the film grows into a mediation on identity and the self in a technologically advancing world.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required for security purposes. Program begins at 6:30PM. Doors open 30 minutes prior. No admittance after 7:00 PM or once seating is full. Registered guests will be seated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that seating is limited and registration does not guarantee guests a seat.
