ANGEL STREET (GASLIGHT) Community Theatre Auditions - (Drama)Drop-In Mon. Feb17th & Tues. Feb 18th
Drop in at the Elberton Arts Ctr between 6:00PM-8:00PM either night prepared to read excerpts from the script for Director Michael Weis. Those planning to audition should also be available during most weeknights from Mar thru mid-May 2025. Casting will be done for 2 adult men, 3 adult women.
No experience is necessary to audition! Please note that Encore Productions is a community theatre organization, and all acting roles granted are strictly on a volunteer basis – no paid roles are available.
Performances will be at the Elbert Theatre Mar 14-16 & 21-23, 2025 as part of the Encore Productions Season.
Rehearsals will be held 3 nights a week (usually Mon, Tues & Thurs) from Mar thru mid-May 2025.
Synopsis: Angel Street tells the story of the Manninghams, who live on Angel Street in 19th-century London. All appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility on the surface. It is soon apparent, however, that Mr. Manningham, is slowly driving his gentle, devoted wife, Bella, to the brink of insanity with an insinuating kindness that masks more sinister motives. While he is out, Mrs. Manningham has an unexpected caller: Inspector Rough from Scotland Yard. He suspects Mr. Manningham of unspeakable crime. Gradually, the inspector restores Bella’s confidence in herself as the evidence against Mr. Manningham unfolds, but will she be able to extricate herself from her husband’s mindful grip?
