About this Event
Visit the ‘Ye awright, pal?’ exhibition by Migrant Voice, open until 30 October in the heart of Glasgow!
12-5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street, G2 3EX
Made of 200 drawings by 100+ migrants living in Scotland, this immersive exhibition shows the complexity of migrant experience, with happy and sad moments and memories mixed together. You’ll explore people’s reasons for moving here, their interactions with the locals, appreciation for Scotland, the culture shock, changing identities, challenges, contributions, and hopes for the future. No matter where you come from, you will also have a chance to draw, write, and become part of the story. We have some keepsakes to take away, too.
Ye awright, pal? is part of the Putting Ourselves in the Picture project, made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Amid rising anti-immigrant sentiment and division, the exhibition feels particularly timely - serving as a poignant and inclusive platform for the voices of those who now call Scotland home.
