A day of Fusion Bellydance and Raqs Sharqi movement in Austin, Texas with Fusion Bellydance powerhouse, Karina. Join us at Nocturna Coven, 605 W 37th St. Workshops are available for individual purchase, or can be bundled together for a free bonus workshop and show ticket.
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. "Taste Test" with Devin Alfather. (A free workshop for all day pass tickets!)
A Fusion bellydance movement introduction for complete beginners. A refresh for prior practitioners of the art form. Foundational building blocks and fundamental vocabulary in fusion bellydance.
12:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. "Fusion Fluidity" With Karina
Slow, slinky, liquid-like movements that make a wonderful addition to any dancer’s toolbox. This workshop explores sinuous movement atop seamless footwork with powerful dynamic shifts. We'll explore undulations, waves, and more.
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. "The Opulent Jellyfish" With Karina
A dynamic, decadent choreography and movement class - deliciously detailed. Unusual, strange, and powerful ways to break out of our dance habits. Movement exploration focuses on body posture, lines, and pathways.
Please note: One free ticket to the evening's show "Penumbra" (doors at 6:30 p.m.) will be given with a full day pass purchase. Additional show seats and VIP seating is limited, but can be purchased at the show link below.
All gender expressions are welcome.
What to wear:
Things you can move in!
Adornments are encouraged, including: jewelry, coin belts, hip scarfs, leather belt, etc.
We recommend bare feet in the studio, but you are welcome to bring foot coverings if preferred.
