"The Man in the Mangroves Counts to Sleep" - Special Woodstock Screening!

A poem becomes an opera... and now, an animated short film.

The Man in the Mangroves Counts to Sleep showcases the power of the poetic voice, augmented by technology, to create a story of kindness, perseverance, and resilience. The film lives in the space of struggle and grace, where an unhoused mathematician asks: “Light, will you still sum me up?”

While the film is currently in competition at film festivals, we want to thank the donors and supporters who have waited patiently for the film to be complete. The film's producer-directors, Donna Decker, Andy Moorer and Ralph Guggenheim will attend. The event is presented thanks to Associate Producer Helen Decker.
