The Woodstock Center for Awakening presents the 4th Annual Woodstock Festival of Awakening, August 14–16, 2026, at the Bearsville Center in Woodstock, NY. For the first time, the entire Festival will be concentrated at the Bearsville Complex—three days and two nights of sacred music, contemporary art, wisdom teachings, movement, and community gathering, all within walking distance of each other.
The Festival’s Saturday headliner is Krishna Das, the Grammy-nominated kirtan master who played to more than 1,200 people at the 2024 Festival—after which the entire Bearsville Park fell quiet for two full minutes, a moment of collective stillness that has come to define the Festival’s spirit. He returns this year with Nina Rao and company, joining a full afternoon of sacred chant with Ishwari, Radharani, and the Spirit Brothers.
What’s New in 2026
All Together at the Bearsville. Building on three years of experience, the 2026 Festival occupies the entire Bearsville Complex for the full weekend—from Friday evening’s BreakBread potluck and Fire Ceremony through Sunday afternoon’s Closing Ceremony. Concentrating everything in one place means activities are a short walk apart, fostering the kind of sustained, immersive attention to awakening that a scattered geography could not.
Tribe of Love at the Bearsville Theater. On Saturday night, the Bearsville Theater hosts Tribe of Love & Awakening Dance (8:00–11:00 PM). Tribe of Love’s music is rooted in Earth and spirit, infused with medicine songs from the Peruvian Amazon. Songs channeled by medicine woman Susanna Raeven, arranged by composer Jan Anna Werge, harmonized with angelic vocals by Maryn Azoff, and accompanied by Charanguista Patrick Surdam.
Awakening Art Project in the Grove. New this year, the Grove at Bearsville becomes a relational art installation with eleven contemporary artists—including Mary Frank, Chris Martin, Tamara Gonzales, and Ben LaRocco—installing outdoor works along a woodland path in conversation with the forest, each other, and the people who walk through. Curated by Peter Acheson and Sam Truitt. On Sunday, the path becomes a performance site for poetry, music, and dance.
Day of Wisdom, Medicine and Awakening Vision. Sunday’s offerings, among others, include A Celebration of the Wisdom, Works and Spirit of Robert Thurman—Woodstock remembering its most honored sage—among other Awakening Talks; poetry, dance and musical performances in the Grove; a host of Indigenous and medicine music groups, concluding with Gratefully Yours; and movement and sound healing along the Sawkill Creek.
