"Macbeth"
But for now:
"The Tragedie of Macbeth" returns this summer, June 18-20, and 25-27, 2026, played at Kentuck Art Center's Queen City location, known as Kentuck Queen City, or KQC, if you're peace like that.
Performances at 8 p.m. each night, with the live (so preferable to the zombie) music beginning at 7:30 p.m.
We're fingers, toes and eyes crossed that the relatively moderate temperatures will continue.
If so, we'll be outdoors, playing on what was, from about 1943 until the ... '80s? ... a swimming pool, adjacent to the funky bathhouse designed by famed Tuscaloosa architect Don Buel Schuyler, who studied under some hack named Frankie L. Wright.
Bring blankets, chairs or comfort materials for the great outdoors. The yard is roughly the size of a peewee football field, lush and green. There are stone bleachers to one side, but they're kind of oddly spaced, and you may not find them accommodating for posteriors. I find them rather cold and distant, but I'm finicky.
We will have beverage sales on the nights, adult if you choose, so pack a card or a few bucks. Admission is always free, though we do accept donations, to help keep the lights on, and feed the actors.
There'll be QR codes on the programs for Venmos and such, for those who, like me, don't enjoy toting cash.
We will also have the indoor/bathhouse option in case of extreme heat, or rain.
On such occasions, though, seating will be limited. We fit about 65 into bath house shows last summer, so we'll get word out asap about any indoor moves.
Last year, we hated it, but had to turn a few folks away, simply because we couldn't safely fit any more chairs inside.
OK, if you've read this far, a few teases:
We will soon have a new website.
We will soon have a new logo.
We will soon have a new .... Spoiler.
Where is it happening?
