Join the Waukesha County Land Conservancy for their Annual Meeting: Voices of the Land!The evening begins at 5 pm with informational tables, networking, and cocktails. At 6 pm, guests will enjoy a delicious dinner and hear from guest speakers, including Annie Jones, who will share Indigenous Ways of Knowing about Wisconsin’s Tribal Nations.
This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow conservationists, as well as the staff and board members of the Waukesha County Land Conservancy. The event will be a sit-down, plated dinner with a registration fee of $75.
Join Annie for an introduction to Wisconsin’s Tribal Nations and explore some key concepts of the Indigenous world view. Leave with your own personal action plan for engaging with Native American people and communities that will be developed using a Native American medicine wheel.
Annie has worked with Extension for 25 years serving in a variety of capacities including Associate Dean, Special Assistant to the Dean for Strategic Directions and a county-based Community Development Educator. Annie’s areas of research include indigenous methodologies like the use of the Native American medicine wheel and cultural teachings to enhance planning and evaluation. Annie specializes in participatory and community-based action research.
