About this Event

"For Venida, For Kalief" - Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Come join us in person for an inspiring evening featuring the powerful documentary film "For Venida, For Kalief" by Sisa Bueno, which highlights the poetry of Venida Brodnax Browder, mother of Kalief Browder, an African American teenager who inspired incarceration reform in the United States.

After the screening, stick around for a panel discussion where we'll discuss the content of the film, including ongoing efforts to continue the social change that Kalief Browder sparked.

It’s a chance to connect, reflect, and engage with others who care deeply about justice for all.

This event is hosted in partnership between Freedom Agenda and the Queens Community Justice Center.
