Motown was more than music—it was a movement. Echoes of Motown celebrates the sound that spoke truth through melody, harmony, and soul, reimagining the songs that carried a generation through protest and pride.
Joining MSU Musical Theatre in this vibrant an moving celebration is MAC ROYAL, the brilliant, young singer who wowed us in Season 24 of NBC's "The Voice." He now tours with singer-songwriter, John Legend.
At Morgan State University, our Musical Theatre program proudly honors the icons who shaped our culture while using their legacy to confront the issues that still affect our people. Conceived and directed by Dr. Tyrone Stanley, this vibrant production fuses Motown’s greatest hits with poetry, spoken word, and dance—a call to awareness, unity, and joy.
