"Big Sew Off" at Fabrications Community Craft Club (in aid of 'Mind')

Join in with the annual sewing community sewathon on Thursday 7th - Friday 8th November 2024 to raise money for mental health charity Mind.

The Sew Over It team will once again be at the the Big Sew Off HQ at The New Craft House for the full 24 hours and the whole event will be live streamed on a YouTube channel.

Fabrications is getting involved in this year's "Big Sew Off" sewathon in aid of the charity Mind. We will dedicate our usual Community Craft Club on Thursday 7th November to the sewathon. The usual £5 fee (or more if you are able) will be donated to Mind. Bring along your own sewing project to work on. We thought a "Menditation" type evening would be appropriate and Barley Massey and other "Craft Clubbers" will be on hand to offer advice/suggestions on your garment or textile repair! You will also have access to the studio's stash of patching fabrics, threads and other habberdashery! Tea & bicuits will also be served (feel free to bring your own snacks too)

Because Care & Repair is also Self-Care & Collective-Care.....X X X

Time: 6 - 10pm

Suitable Projects: hand & machine sewing repairs such as patching, darning, small alterations & restyles (please note: machine spaces will be limited and rotated amongst attendees, so bring a mix of hand sewing and/or machine sewing tasks)

Cost: The usual £5 'Craft Club' fee (or ideally a bit more if you can!) which will be added to the JustGiving Page
