"Bake the Perfect Simit: Uncover the Secrets to Turkey's Beloved Bagel!

Hello baking enthusiast! I am thrilled to be offerring baking classes at my cottage bakery- Squirrel Bakery. I have been running my small bakery for more than a year and been baking for 8 years. Food has always had a special place in my heart as it is one of the things that builds communities, creates new frienships and nourshishes our souls and bodies.

This workshop is a little escape from our digital, busy, hectic lives in order to slow down, focus on our senses and work with the dough in a mindful way.

Simit is a street food and enjoyed with tea or as part of breakfast, it is typically served with cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and tea. Its unique texture and flavor make it a beloved staple in Turkish cuisine. Learn the secrets to crafting these iconic sesame-crusted delights from scratch, enjoy a hands-on baking experience, and take home your very own batch of freshly made simit!

The workshop includes:

-discussing the recipe and possible subsitutions of some ingredients

-preparing the dough

-shaping bagels and baking them

-having a Turkish style lunch together with feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, spreads and of course Turkish tea served in iconic Turkish glassware

All the materials are provided:)The only thing you will need to bring your comfortable shoes ( be ready to stand 1-1.5 hour during the class) and an apron to protect your outfit:)
